18-year-old Miami singer Major Myjah has dancehall in his DNA, being the son of the legendary Bounty Killer, but his sonic leaning is something more akin to the sort of soulful R&B-rap hybrid that would fit neatly into a Top 40 rotation. To wit, his latest single “Trouble” is a radio-ready ballad swollen with strings, keys, and heartbreak.
“It’s just crazy for me to see how far I’ve come, since I was nine and writing my first song in the shower,” he told The FADER. “I want to break barriers and become a legend.”
